Macron confirms France’s insistence on providing Ukraine with air defense systems
The French President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday that France will deliver radar and air defense systems to Ukraine in the coming weeks to help it in particular to protect itself from drone attacks.
In an interview with France 2 television, Macron didn’t give details of the type of anti-aircraft missiles or how many would be delivered.
Paris previously supplied Ukraine with shoulder-fired Mistral anti-aircraft missiles.
In addition, Germany said on Wednesday that Russia’s annexation of Ukrainian regions posed a danger to everyone.
This comes before the emergency session that the United Nations General Assembly plans to hold on Wednesday to vote on a resolution condemning Russia’s annexation of parts of Ukraine.
German diplomat Michael Geisler, from Germany’s permanent mission to the United Nations, told the General Assembly today: “Today Ukraine, tomorrow can be any of us.
The sovereign equality and territorial integrity of each of us will be at the mercy of our neighbor”.
Geisler believed that all countries are obligated to reject the false referendums of the annexations carried out by Moscow in violation of the law.
Today’s vote is seen as a test of the global mood about Russia’s war in neighboring Ukraine.
It should be noted that the result of the vote is not binding in international law, but it can have political and moral force.
