Macron calls on Ukraine’s allies to be courageous to support Kiev in its confrontation with the Russian invasion
Referring to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Macron said on Tuesday that France and the Czech Republic “are well aware that war has returned to our lands in Europe, and that some forces have become unstoppable”.
French President Emmanuel Macron called on Ukraine’s allies “not to be cowards” in supporting Kiev to fight the Russian invasion, stressing that he fully supports the controversial statements he made last week in which he didn’t rule out sending Western forces to Ukraine, which caused shock in the country, and all Europe.
“We’re certainly approaching a moment for Europe where it will be necessary not to be cowards,” Macron said.
The Czech Republic is seeking to adopt a plan to purchase weapons from outside Europe for Ukraine, and in this regard, Macron discussed during this visit the plans announced by the Czech Republic last month, with the support of Canada, Denmark and other countries, to finance the purchase of weapons from third countries to send to Ukraine.
Referring to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Macron said on Tuesday that France and the Czech Republic “are well aware that war has returned to our lands in Europe, and that some forces have become unstoppable”.
“Every day it expands its threat to attack Ukraine… More than that, we will have to live up to history and the courage it takes”.
At a security conference held in Munich last month, the Czech republic, a member of the European Union and NATO, with a population of 10.8 million, confirmed that it had managed to collect a large number of weapons for Ukraine outside the continent.
