The main investigator in the Beirut port explosion that occurred last August, killing and injuring thousands, issued two arrest warrants on Thursday, against the captain and owner of a ship that carried thousands of tons of ammonium nitrate to Beirut seven years ago, according to the National Information Agency.
About three thousand tons of ammonium nitrate were stored in the Beirut port and exploded on August 4, killing 193 people and injuring about 6,500 others, in addition to billions of dollars in damage.
The agency added that Judge Fadi Sawan referred the case to the Public Prosecution, which requested Interpol to arrest two Russian citizens.
