Larijani: The idea of America and Israel destroying Iran’s nuclear program is stupid!
Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani said that the idea of the United States and Israel destroying Iran’s nuclear program is “immature and stupid,” stressing that Iran’s nuclear industry is based on well-established knowledge that cannot be eliminated by force.
Larijani’s remarks came in an interview conducted during his two-day visit to Pakistan, and touched on bilateral relations, regional issues, the nuclear issue and developments in Gaza.
Larijani said Iran’s nuclear program was “real and based on the minds of thousands of scientists and experts,” adding that Israeli assassinations and military actions “don’t change this fact”.
He stressed that his country doesn’t seek to possess nuclear weapons, but continues to develop nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
He stressed that the main solution to the nuclear issue is still diplomatic, questioning the feasibility of war if Washington still calls for negotiations, and considering that determining the outcome of the negotiations in advance makes it a farce.
