The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying that it summoned the Jordanian ambassador to Tel Aviv immediately, in addition to refusing the return of the Israeli ambassador to Amman.
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry said that Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al Safadi directed that the Israeli Foreign Ministry be informed not to return its ambassador to the Kingdom.
This comes according to the Jordanian News Agency as an expression of Jordan’s position rejecting and condemning the raging Israeli war on Gaza, which is killing innocent people, causing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, and carrying dangerous possibilities for its expansion, which threatens the security of the entire region and international security and peace.
The Jordanian Foreign Minister directed the relevant department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs to inform the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs not to return its ambassador who had previously left the Kingdom.
Safadi stressed that the return of the ambassadors will be linked to Israel stopping its war on Gaza, stopping the humanitarian catastrophe it’s causing, and all its measures that deprive the Palestinians of their right to food, water, and medicine, and their right to a safe and stable life on their national soil.
Safadi stressed that Jordan will continue to work to stop the war on Gaza, bring in humanitarian aid, protect civilians and protect the region from its consequences and its disastrous impact on the future of the region and its right to a just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the two-state solution, which embodies the independent and sovereign Palestinian national state with its capital, Occupied Jerusalem, on the lines of June 4, 1967, which represents the only way to guarantee the security of all the peoples and countries of the region, according to the statement.
It’s worth noting that Jordan asked the United States to provide them with anti-air missile patriot system, in order to intercept missiles that coming from Yemen towards Israel.
