Japan provide 5 million US Dollars to Syrian City
From Japan to Harasta .. !!
Japan provided financial aid to Syria estimated at about $ 5 million to the city of Harasta in the eastern Ghouta, Damascus – for rehabilitation.
The Japanese Embassy in Syria, through its Twitter account, said that Japan’s ambassador to the United Nations, Ambassador Koro Bessho, exchanged notes on the third of this month with the Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States in the United Nations Development Program, Murad Wahba, about a Japanese grant estimated at $ 5 million to support the “Early Humanitarian Recovery and Resilience Project for Affected People and Communities in the Eastern Gauta, with particular emphasis on the Harasta region”.
Financial assistance was aimed at three types of assistance: rehabilitation of basic humanitarian infrastructure, including the Harasta National Hospital, neighboring schools and social services.
It also aims to provide support for socio-economic recovery at the local level to the most vulnerable communities.
The Japanese embassy pointed out that with this new assistance, the Japanese aid provided to Syria since 2012, amounted to 445 million dollars.
