Israeli Defense Minister to Iran: Proxy warfare is over and We’ll do to you what we did to Hamas in Gaza
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Thursday that his country will do to Tehran “what it did to Hamas in the Gaza Strip,” days after the Yemeni Ansar Allah group targeted Ben Gurion airport.
“I warn the Iranian leadership that funds, arms, and directs the Houthis: The proxy war tactic is over,” Katz said in a statement issued by his office.
Katz stressed, “You bear direct responsibility… What we did to Hezbollah in Beirut, to Hamas in Gaza, to Assad in Damascus, and to the Houthis in Yemen, we will do to you in Tehran as well”.
Katz also threatened Iran in a statement on Tuesday, holding Tehran directly responsible for any attack by the yemeni group’s arm against Israel, and will bear the full consequences.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire on Tuesday between his country and the Houthis in Yemen, brokered by the Sultanate of Oman.
However, the group confirmed it would continue targeting Israel and Israeli ships in the Red Sea despite the agreement that ended weeks of intensive US airstrikes on Yemen.
