The Israeli army announced that Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir conducted a field tour of Syrian territory on Tuesday, during which he stressed the need to maintain high readiness and vigilance at all times.

The Israeli army announced in a statement, “The Chief of Staff, General Eyal Zamir, Tuesday, conducted a field tour and situation assessment on Syrian territory with the commander of the Northern Command, Major General Uri Gordin, the commander of the 210th Division, Brigadier General Yair Bali, the commander of the 3rd Brigade, and other commanders”.

The Israeli army indicated that the Chief of Staff spoke with reserve fighters on the front lines about their importance as an operational force necessary to maintain the security of citizens.

“We’ve been waging a multi-front battle for a long time, and last week this battle reached another peak… We’re inflicting severe blows on all components of the axis that Iran has formed against us—and now we have acted with extreme force against the head of the axis, which is the Iranian regime and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps,” Zamir said during the tour.

He added, “We must maintain high readiness and vigilance at all times… Our defense on the Golan Heights is conducted in a forward defense zone, and we initiate operations aimed at thwarting threats… We’ll attack any concrete threat, whether existing or emerging, and wherever necessary… We continue to strike at terrorist organizations and Hezbollah”.

He concluded his remarks by saying, “Syria has disintegrated and is undergoing change, and we are adhering to the critical points and will continue to work beyond our borders to best defend ourselves”.
