A video showed Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, tearing up a copy of the UN Charter during a vote on the draft resolution on Palestine’s full membership in the international organization.

As the IAEA’s General Assembly voted on whether to support Palestine’s bid to become a full member of the United Nations, Gilad Erdan put a copy of the UN Charter in a paper shredder in plain sight, addressing them, “You’re tearing up the UN Charter with your own hands… Shame on you,” he said.

It’s worth noting that the United Nations General Assembly adopted on Friday a resolution on the eligibility of the State of Palestine to full membership in the United Nations, and the resolution recommends that the Security Council reconsider this issue positively.
