Israeli air defenses announced intercepting a Houthi missile before it entered the city of Eilat

On Thursday morning, the Israeli army announced the interception of an air target coming from the Red Sea direction before it entered the city of Eilat in the south of the country.

The Israeli army spokesman said in a statement on X that the air defenses intercepted one target that was launched and was on its way towards Israeli territory from the Red Sea region.

He explained that sirens were activated in the Eilat city area in accordance with established policy, however, the target didn’t pose any threat.

According to the Times of Israel newspaper, the intercepted target was a Houthi missile that was heading to Eilat.

Several activists and journalists shared clear pictures of the missile after it was targeted over the city’s sky.
