The Israeli army announced on Sunday the arrival of 3 new US F35 Adair fighter jets at the Nevatim Air Base, effectively entering service as part of the fighter squadrons.

“Today, three new Adair F35 fighter jets made by the American company Lockheed Martin landed at the Nevatim Air Base, and were marked with the logo of the Israeli Air Force,” the Israeli army said in a statement.

The statement explained that “the Adair fighter system has been actively participating since the outbreak of the current war (the war on Gaza) in the implementation of various defensive and offensive missions on all fronts”.

Israel is the only country in the region that has the F35, which is considered by experts to be the most advanced fighter in the world, capable of gathering intelligence, attacking deep into enemy territory, and participating in air confrontations.

Israel also continues to pressure Washington to maintain its qualitative superiority, as it has expressed its opposition to possible deals to sell F35 jets to other countries in the region, fearing that its air superiority will be eroded.

There is growing talk in Israel about the need for Israel to maintain military superiority and modernize and rehabilitate its arsenal of weapons and ammunition following the launch of several wars since October 8, 2023.
