Israel provides written guarantees to the Biden administration regarding the use of weapons during its war on Gaza
A US official said on Wednesday that Israel had provided written assurances at the request of the US State Department that its use of US-supplied weapons didn’t violate humanitarian laws in Gaza.
By early May, the State Department will assess whether Israeli guarantees are credible and will submit a report to the US Congress.
Last month, President Joe Biden issued a new US national security memorandum reminding countries that receive US weapons to abide by international law.
