Israel: poll shows Netanyahu’s progress against Lapid

The results of an Israeli opinion poll, on Friday, showed a tangible progress for the leader of the opposition Likud party, Benjamin Netanyahu, compared to the current Prime Minister, Yair Lapid, and head of the Yesh Atid party.

An Israeli opinion poll confirmed to the Maariv newspaper, that there is clear progress for Netanyahu that will enable him to form a new Israeli government, through the parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on the first of next November.

The results of the opinion poll confirmed that the opposition “Likud” party led by Netanyahu won 32 seats, compared to 24 seats for “Yesh Atid / There is a Future” led by Yair Lapid, followed by the Zionist movement with 13 seats, then the royal camp with 12 seats.

The Shas party comes in fifth with 8 seats, then the United Torah Judaism movement with 7 seats, and then the Yisrael Beytenu party, led by the current Finance Minister, Avigdor Lieberman.

With this result, Netanyahu’s right-wing bloc would obtain 60 seats against Lapid’s bloc’s 56 seats. It gets 62 seats, and the Lapid bloc only gets 54 seats.
