The Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims called for “the establishment of a new, legitimate government that rules by the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet, peace be upon him” in Mali, and urged “the peoples of the region, with all their segments, tribes, and ethnicities, to stand together and sincerely in order to repel the aggression of the invaders”.

The group explained in a statement published by its affiliated al Zalaqa news agency that the Russians’ continued “massacres against innocents will inevitably lead to more hatred from the Sahelian peoples for them and an escalation of the wave of hostility against them, even more so than they do toward Western countries and their allies.”

The statement reminded “the Russians of the danger of these military choices pursued by their government and militias in the Sahel countries, which demonstrate their recklessness and the extent to which they are deluded by their false principles, without learning from the consequences of their previous experiences and their immersion in the Afghan quagmire of the 1970s”.

The group, led by Iyad Ag Ghaly, considered its battle today “a battle to repel the foreign Russian invading force in our country and to expel all forms of occupation, regardless of their names, from our lands so that we may enjoy true and complete independence under Islamic law”.

In its statement regarding the Russian Wagner Group’s announcement of its withdrawal from Mali, it affirmed that it had achieved a major victory on all fronts against the Malian army and its Russian mercenaries.

The group explained that she achieved victories in “Bandjagara, Ganfato, Sevare, the suburbs of Djabli, Nampala, and Morga in the (Massina) region, Houmbri, Douentza, Gossi, the suburbs of Boni in the (Arbinda) region, and Tinghaguit, Takinkent, and Amsgerken in the (Kidal) state”.
