Israelis’ requests for psychological help jumped 480% Tuesday evening after Iran launched a retaliatory missile attack on Israel.

On Tuesday, Iran fired dozens of missiles at Israel (180 according to Tel Aviv’s estimate), causing human casualties, material damage, and the closure of airspace, while millions of Israelis rushed to shelters where they spent about an hour, while sirens sounded throughout the country.

“After the missile attack from Iran, the Natal Association reported a 480% increase in requests for psychological assistance,” Israel’s Army Radio said.

The radio station didn’t mention the number of assistance cases received by Natal, an Israeli association specializing in providing psychological assistance to trauma victims.

Most of the calls the association received tonight were “characterized by anxiety and tension due to the events and changes in the directives of the Home Front Command,” according to Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.

At the beginning of a meeting of the Security Cabinet, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Iran had made a “big mistake” tonight and would “pay the price,” according to Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.

In a statement, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard threatened Israel with more “destructive attacks” if it responded to its retaliatory attack.

He said his attack came in response to Israel’s assassination of leaders, including Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, and Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut.

He also said that he responded to “the escalation of the Zionist entity’s perpetration, with America’s support, of massacres against the people of Lebanon and Gaza,” according to the statement.
