At a time when the region is witnessing escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, in addition to increasing pressure on the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iranian intelligence announced Wednesday evening that it had obtained what it described as a treasure trove of information about Israel.

In televised remarks, Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib revealed that Iranian intelligence had obtained accurate information related to 189 Israeli nuclear and military experts.

He explained that the documents obtained included photos and sensitive information related to the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, including details about his family.

He noted that this information reveals that Israel was spying on Grossi and the IAEA, the body responsible for monitoring nuclear activities globally.

The Iranian minister added that Iranian intelligence had obtained comprehensive details, including the names, jobs, addresses, and employment relationships of 189 Israeli experts in the fields of nuclear energy and military technology, noting that this list was still being updated.

The information also included sensitive military sites with dual uses, the coordinates of which were provided to Iranian missile units, some of which were targeted during the 12-day war last June.

Khatib noted that the treasure trove of information that reached Iran includes millions of pages covering a wide range of topics related to Israel, including current and future weapons projects, modernization work on old nuclear weapons, and cooperation with the United States and European countries in similar fields.

The documents also include lists of the names of leading weapons scientists and researchers, including US and European scientists.

The Iranian minister also stated that some Israeli nuclear agencies, military institutions, and citizens had assisted in leaking these documents, whether for financial reasons or because of their hostility toward Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

He added that these individuals were cooperating with Iran because of their dislike of Netanyahu’s policies, urging him to focus on addressing Israel’s internal issues rather than trying to conceal this information

These statements come after Rafael Grossi, earlier this week, acknowledged the difficulty of the ongoing negotiations with Iran regarding its nuclear program, but indicated that a diplomatic solution was possible.

Tehran had previously accused the IAEA of colluding with Israel in leaking information about its nuclear facilities and announced the suspension of cooperation with it before re-announcing a new agreement with the agency earlier this year.
