Iran shutdown US fighter jets over Kuwait
Scenes circulating on social media on Monday showed what is rumored to be a US warplane crashing in western Kuwait.
Footage shows the plane falling, while its pilots survived after jumping into the parachute before the fighter jet hit the ground.
Activists claimed it was an F-15 fighter jet, and a video showed people finding one of the pilots.
This comes at a time when Iran is launching missile and drone attacks on what it says are US bases and interests in Arab countries, including Kuwait, in response to Israeli-US attacks.
The US embassy in Kuwait on Monday called for people not to go to the embassy building, as smoke rising was spotted from its headquarters on the third day of Iranian strikes on the Gulf states in response to the US-Israeli attack.
“There remains a continuing threat of missile and drone attacks over Kuwait… Don’t go to the embassy… Take shelter in your residences on the available basements away from the windows… Don’t go out,” the US embassy said.
“US Embassy staff are obliged to take shelter in their places,” the statement added.
Powerful explosions erupted Monday in Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, as Tehran continues to strike neighboring Gulf countries in response to the US-Israeli attack on them.
Iranian strikes in the Gulf have hit airports, ports, hotels and residential buildings since Saturday.
