Huge fires at Russian oil depots in Rostov after Ukrainian drone attack
Oil depots caught fire after a drone attack early Tuesday in the town of Azov in Russia’s southern Rostov region, officials said.
The governor of the region bordering Ukraine, Vasily Golubeev, wrote on Telegram, “Preliminary data indicate no casualties”.
Russia’s Emergencies Ministry said on Telegram that the fire had spread to five thousand cubic meters, and that dozens of firefighters with 21 equipment were battling the blaze.
There was no immediate comment from Ukraine, which usually says targeting Russia’s energy, military and transport infrastructure undermines Moscow’s war effort.
The town of Azov is located on the Don River and is about 16 kilometers from the Sea of Azov.
In the same context, the Ukrainian air force said on Tuesday that its air defense systems destroyed ten drones launched by Russia overnight to target the country.
