Hezbollah threatens Israel with a long-term battle with heavy losses after the Israeli army decision to go for a second phase
Hezbollah threatened Israel on Tuesday evening with more losses, stressing that it’s prepared for a long battle, in response to the Israeli army starting a second phase of its ground incursion into southern Lebanon.
In Hezbollah’s statement via Telegram, “the decision taken by the leadership of the Israeli enemy army to move to the second phase of the land maneuver in southern Lebanon will only lead to disappointment, and its inevitable harvest will be more losses and failures”.
The statement stressed, “the resistance has taken, within its defensive plans, all measures that enable it to fight a long battle, to prevent the enemy from achieving its goals, in defense of the freedom and sovereignty of its country, and the dignity and honor of its proud people”.
The statement stressed, “the front, in all axes and sectors, has the necessary equipment and personnel from various military specialties to fight such a battle”.
Hezbollah addressed the claims made by the Israeli army about controlling the border villages.
Hezbollah said, “despite these allegations, his fighters were able over the past few days to carry out several missile attacks from the Lebanese-Palestinian border towards the occupied depth, and they were also able to surprise the enemy with direct clashes behind its lines of deployment”.
Hezbollah stressed that Israel will not be able to “stop these operations that reach their military targets and achieve confirmed casualties, and with every missile and drone launched, hundreds of thousands of settlers are forced into shelters”.
According to Hezbollah, “due to the intense and concentrated resistance strikes, the Israeli enemy army forces withdrew from most of the towns they had advanced to beyond the border”.
Hezbollah added, “Except for the stagnation for more than a week of the formations of the 146th Division in the enemy army in the forests of Labouneh and east of the town of Naqoura, which it seeks to control by advancing towards Wadi Hamoul from the eastern side of the town”.
Hezbollah’s statement included what it said was the cumulative toll of the enemy’s losses according to what Hezbollah had observed since the start of the ground incursion on October 1.
Hezbollah reported that more than 100 dead and 1,000 wounded officers and soldiers, the destruction of 43 Merkava tanks, 8 military bulldozers, 2 Hummer vehicles, 2 armored vehicles, 2 personnel carriers, and the downing of 4 “Hormes 450” drones and 2 “Hormes 900″ drones”.
Hezbollah said, “This toll doesn’t include the Israeli enemy’s losses in military bases, sites, barracks, settlements, and occupied cities”.
Hezbollah also announced that it targeted a squadron of drones at the “Yaknaam Illit” military technology factory southeast of Haifa and hit their targets accurately.
As of 18:40 GMT on Tuesday, Hezbollah announced that it had launched 17 attacks targeting military bases, troop concentrations, and settlements in northern Israel.
On Tuesday, Israel announced the killing of two people and the injury of two others as a result of rockets launched from Lebanon, while sirens sounded in many cities, towns and settlements in the north.
