Hezbollah announced on Monday morning that it had destroyed 4 Israeli tanks in southern Lebanon, in response to Israel’s violations of the ceasefire declared last Thursday.

Hezbollah said in a statement that “Israeli occupation forces” were committing a new violation on Sunday, adding to their “serial series of blatant and documented violations” of the ceasefire.

Hezbollah added that an Israeli army convoy consisting of eight armored vehicles was moving from the town of Taybeh towards the old al Sal’a site in the town of Deir Siryan, and was exposed to the explosion of explosive devices that Hezbollah fighters had previously planted in the place.

Hezbollah added that the explosion occurred in two waves, and led to the destruction of 4 Merkava tanks, and flames were seen breaking out in them, before the enemy moved them from the scene.

On Thursday, a temporary ceasefire began for 10 days, renewable, but Israel repeatedly violated it through bombing operations that left dead and wounded, as well as blowing up homes.

The following day, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Tel Aviv intends to maintain control over all the areas it occupied in southern Lebanon during the recent aggression.

On Monday morning, the Israeli army warned Lebanese citizens against returning to about 80 villages and areas in the south of the country, despite a ceasefire agreement four days ago.
