Hezbollah: Discussions with the party must be commensurate with the sacrifices it has made in defense of the nation

Rami Abu Hamdan, a member of parliament representing Hezbollah, said that discussions with the party must be commensurate with the sacrifices it has made in defense of the nation, its people, and its sovereignty.

Abu Hamdan said in a statement that “some in Lebanon have crossed the red line and all the standards of citizenship and the literature of politics and debate,” stressing that “we aren’t reactive, nor do we react, because we have a project and a clear concept for building the nation”.

He considered that “it’s not reasonable, logical, or based on the book of politics and sovereignty for some to talk about withdrawing Lebanon’s last card of power under the circumstances we are witnessing, especially with the continued Israeli attacks on various Lebanese territories, and the targeting of safe citizens in their homes and workplaces”.

Abu Hamdan thanked President Joseph Aoun for his recent stances and his approach to sensitive issues in Lebanon, far from provocation and outbidding.

He is acting in a manner that indicates and demonstrates that he is aware of the balances and the circumstances of Lebanon, especially with regard to the issue of the resistance and the like.

MP Abu Hamdan concluded by stressing that the Americans are the ones who create the crises in Lebanon and are the ones who manage them.

As for some of their tools in Lebanon, they don’t influence the Americans in any way whatsoever and are worth nothing to them.

The evidence is that the Americans always direct their discourse and conflict towards the resistance, because it’s the element of strength in Lebanon and isn’t subservient to anyone.

Abu Hamdan’s statement comes at a time of increasing talk about restricting the possession of weapons to the Lebanese state.

MP Hassan Fadlallah of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc announced the party’s readiness to engage in dialogue on the defense strategy, and that it was open-minded and willing to reach an understanding, provided that such an understanding was preceded by pressure to halt Israeli attacks and compel Tel Aviv to withdraw from southern Lebanon.
