The Lebanese Hezbollah on Friday denied the validity of the accusation by the security authorities in the UAE that the party is running a network that seeks to penetrate the country’s economy and threaten its financial economy.

This came in a statement by the party, in response to the announcement by the UAE’s State Security Agency on Friday, “dismantling a terrorist network financed and managed by Lebanese Hezbollah and Iran and arresting its members”.

The UAE agency added that the network operates within the country’s territory under a fake commercial cover, and seeks to penetrate the national economy and implement external schemes that threaten the country’s financial stability.

In response, Hezbollah said in a statement that it denies the fabricated accusations made against him by the security authorities in the UAE, and categorically confirms that these allegations are completely untrue and aren’t based on any reality or fact.

“Hezbollah doesn’t have any presence inside the UAE and other countries under any cover or commercial or other name,” the statement said.

“These allegations come in the context of repeated attempts to harm the party and distort its image for goals that have become clear and not hidden to anyone,” Hezbollah said.

In related context, Kuwait announced on Monday the arrest of a group of 14 citizens and two Lebanese that it said were linked to Hezbollah, and the discovery of firearms, ammunition, maps, narcotics and money.

In a statement the next day, Hezbollah said that it had repeatedly announced that there were no cells, individuals or formations affiliated with it in Kuwait, expressing its keenness on its security, stability and the safety of its people.
