Harsh Israeli message warns Biden against returning to the nuclear deal with Iran and considers it “the greatest existential threat to Israel”

Former Israeli officials sent a letter to US President Joe Biden, warning him against returning to the nuclear deal with Iran.

The Israeli message considered that “returning to the agreement is an existential threat to Israel”.

Israeli officials also stressed that “the return to the agreement will open a major nuclear arms race in the region”.

It is noteworthy that the letter was signed by about two thousand former Israeli military and intelligence officials.

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed last February that his country would not allow the Iranian regime, which he described as extremist and aggressive, to possess nuclear weapons.

“I told US President Joe Biden that I will prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, with or without an agreement,” Netanyahu said.

It is noteworthy that former US President Donald Trump had decided to withdraw his country from the agreement concluded in 2015 between Iran and the major countries, aimed at preventing Tehran from possessing an atomic bomb, pointing out that the text is not sufficient, and he re-imposed US sanctions.

In response to this position, Iran backed away from adhering to restrictions on its nuclear program.

It is noteworthy that Biden announced his country’s readiness to return to the agreement, provided Iran returns in advance to abide by all of its provisions.
