Habertürk: Asma al Assad requesting a divorce to leave Russia to the UK
According to Turkish media, Asma al Assad, the wife of toppled Syrian President Bashar al Assad, expressed her dissatisfaction with life in the Russian capital, Moscow.
According to Habertürk newspaper, Asma is seeking to travel to the UK, taking advantage of her British citizenship.
She is supported in this by her mother, Sahar al Atri, who has started talks with major British law firms.
It’s noteworthy that the family is relying on Asma’s health condition, as she suffers from leukemia, and claims that the health care available to her in Moscow is inadequate.
Habertürk also reported that Asma had filed a divorce petition with a Russian court, in addition to requesting a special permit allowing her to leave Moscow.
The Turkish newspaper concluded by pointing out that the coming period will reveal whether Asma al Assad will decide to return to London or continue living in Moscow.
