Germany demands to equip Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that his country has provided 3 Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, expressing hope that other countries will take the same step.
This came in press statements made on Tuesday by Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport before heading to Washington to attend the summit of leaders of NATO countries.
“Russia, Europe’s largest country, has encroached on the territory of Ukraine, Europe’s second-largest country, to annex it in a traditional imperialist way,” he said.
He said he supported broad support for Ukraine, stressing that they would stand by Kiev for as long as needed.
He reported that Germany has so far provided 3 Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine to defend itself.
The German chancellor called on other countries to take similar steps for his country in providing more air defense systems to Ukraine.
