Germany announces the date for opening borders with European countries

German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer announced, on Wednesday, that Germany will lift restrictions on the borders with Switzerland, France, Austria and Denmark on June 15, adding that the government may reconsider this if the conditions related to the outbreak of the new Coronavirus spread.
Seehofer said, according to Reuters news agency: “The restrictions imposed on citizens outside the European Union who want to enter the country will be extended until the end of June”.
Germany has already announced that it will lift a comprehensive travel ban for members of the European Union, Britain, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland from June 15, opening the way to separate travel advice for individual regions.
Germany had closed its borders with several countries in the middle of March, due to the spread of the new Corona virus, and at that time all crossings with Austria, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland and Denmark were closed.
