German Interior Minister calls for better distribution of Ukrainian refugees in Europe

German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser called for an improvement in the distribution of Ukrainian refugees within Europe.
“If another large movement of refugees from Ukraine is detected, refugees in Europe should be better distributed,” Faeser told the German weekly Bild am Sonntag in its Sunday edition.
She emphasized that the burden must be eased on Ukraine’s neighboring countries in Eastern Europe in particular, and said: “Poland has so far received more than 1.5 million refugees from Ukraine, and Spain has received 160,000 refugees… It cannot remain like this”.
Faeser intends to receive officials from the Conference of Interior Ministers (local German states) as well as from local organizations during a summit on refugees in the German capital, Berlin, next Thursday.
It’s scheduled to address the issue of reducing the flow of illegal immigration to Germany during this summit as well.
