German Foreign Minister cancels visit to Israel and Arab countries

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has canceled his planned visit to Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and Israel following recent developments related to the Israeli attack on Iran.
Several countries in the region have closed their airspace and the course of the military conflict between Israel and Iran has become unpredictable.
Wadephul is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia on Saturday, where he will hold talks with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, in the capital, Riyadh.
In addition to discussing the situation following the Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, the talks are likely to focus on the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
Wadephul’s talks in Riyadh are also likely to address the prospects for a two-state solution between Israelis and Palestinians.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty held political consultations with his German counterpart, Johann Wadephul, on Friday to discuss bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international developments.
The two ministers exchanged views on developments in Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, the Horn of Africa, and the Red Sea region.
