German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that a new war in Europe is no longer out of the question, and German society must adapt to this reality.

In an interview with German press, Pistorius insisted that Germans must once again get used to the idea that the threat of war in Europe could pose a threat.

Speaking about Berlin’s defense capabilities, the German Defense Minister called on his citizens to become prepared for war.

He pointed to the conflict in Ukraine as well as hostilities between Israel and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas as evidence that fighting may also break out elsewhere.

Pistorius brushed off criticism that Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s government was too slow in building up Germany’s armed forces, claiming it was working as quickly as possible to make up for 30 years of neglect and underfunding.

He promised that the German army would be unrecognizable within three or four years, noting that the German army is already among the strongest forces in NATO and Europe.
