Gallant leaves the Israeli war council meeting as disagreements with Netanyahu increase
The Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant left the Military Cabinet meeting due to his office director being prevented from attending, amid increasing tension within the council.
According to the official Israeli Broadcasting Authority and the private Channel 12, “Tensions within the Military Cabinet are increasing, as Gallant left the ministerial discussion, on Saturday evening, due to the lack of approval for his office director to remain”.
In the same context, the private Channel 13 reported that Gallant asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to disrupt his work within the government.
During recent months, news has repeatedly touched on ongoing disagreements between Gallant and Netanyahu, related to how to manage the war on the Gaza Strip, and the aftermath of the war, in addition to Netanyahu’s repeated attempts to hold the army responsible for the war on the Gaza Strip.
