Federal agents in the United States believe they have enough evidence to charge Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden, with tax offenses and make a false statement in connection with a weapons purchase.

According to the Washington Post, it is now up to Delaware attorney David Weiss, appointed by former President Donald Trump, to decide whether to sue Hunter for those crimes.

“It’s a federal crime for a federal agent to leak information about a grand jury investigation like this one,” Biden’s attorney, Chris Clark, told NBC News.

The Washington Post reported that federal agents “decided months ago that they had collected viable criminal case leads against the younger Biden”.

Hunter already revealed in late 2020 that Weiss was conducting a criminal investigation into his tax affairs.

“Any agent you cite as a source in your article appears to have committed such a felony, and we expect the Department of Justice to seriously investigate and prosecute such bad actors,” Clark added.

He continued: “As appropriate and legally required, we believe that the plaintiffs in this case are diligently and meticulously weighing not only the evidence presented by clients, but also all other witnesses in this case, including defense witnesses, and that is the plaintiffs job, and they shouldn’t be pressured Or rush to criticize them for doing their job”.

In its report, the Washington Post indicated that the possible charge related to the gun is related to Hunter’s purchase of a handgun in October 2018, which requires him to fill out a federal form asking if he was a drug consumer or addict.

Hunter answered “no” to that question, despite being a cocaine consumer at the time, according to a book he later wrote.
