The results of an opinion poll conducted by the European Council on Foreign Relations showed that Europeans no longer trusted the United States.

The European Council’s annual poll survey coincided with the outbreak of the Coronavirus epidemic around the world.

The results of the poll, released by the council in a statement, Monday, indicated that “European confidence has decreased significantly towards Washington”.

Europeans believe that European-American relations are currently experiencing the greatest fragility since the Second World War, blaming the policies of US President Donald Trump, for that.

Commenting on the survey results, Jeremy Shapiro, director of research for the European Council on Foreign Relations, said that Europeans have lost their faith in the United States’ ability to lead the world.
