The European Parliament adopted a resolution calling for an independent, transparent and independent international inquiry into the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at his consulate in Istanbul earlier this month.

He called on EU member states to ban the export of arms to the Saudi Arabia.

The parliament voted on the decision today by a majority of 325 deputies out of 345 deputies who attended the session.

The European Parliament members demanded that the investigation be “completely neutral” to reveal the truth about what happened inside the consulate of the Saudi Arabia in Istanbul at the time of Khashoggi’s death on the second of October.

The European Parliament members stressed that “those responsible for the work must be submitted to planners and executors to justice”, suggesting that the killing was “not carried out without the knowledge or supervision” of the Crown Prince of the Saudi regime Mohammed bin Salman, which means questioning the official Saudi narrative.

The European Parliament members called on EU member states to ban the export of arms to Saudi Arabia, stressing the need to “adopt a unified European position and collective in this regard”, according to the resolution.

Members of the European Parliament called on the institutions and countries of the Union to act effectively and resolutely to respond to the murder of Saudi journalist Khashoggi, explaining that “there is a need to move strongly towards Riyadh, which provided an unconvincing story of the killing”.
