Kosma Zlotowski, a member of the European Parliament for Poland, called on the German authorities to prevent the activity of the Ruptly agency of the Russian RT network in Germany, which continues to operate despite the sanctions imposed on RT.

“The agency is headquartered in Germany but operates worldwide, providing access to video and live broadcasts to many international clients,” Zlotowski said.

This agency is one of the Russian media organizations that Washington accused in 2016 of trying to influence the US presidential elections.

The parliamentarian asked the European Commission whether it monitors the implementation of EU sanctions on Russian media in member states, and whether it is aware that Ruptly continues to operate in Berlin despite the sanctions.

In March 2022, the European Union banned the Russian RT channel and the Sputnik News agency as part of the West’s media war against Russia.
