Erdogan: We’re working to secure energy supplies in Türkiye

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Saturday, that his government is working to secure energy supplies in the country.

This came during a speech he delivered in the central Turkish state of Çorum, on the sidelines of the inauguration of a number of service projects, Anadolu Agency reported.

“We’ve strengthened Türkiye’s position in diplomacy through the relations we have established,” Erdogan said.

Instead of watching events from the stands, we intervene in crises and develop solutions, and are able to bring even the warring parties on the same floor”.

He added, “While the Europeans are immersed in thinking about ways to spend the coming winter, we have been working since the hour to implement strategic studies to ensure the security of energy supplies in Türkiye”.

He explained that his government has turned Türkiye into one of the most important energy bridges between East and West through pipeline projects that it has activated over the past years.

He stressed that Türkiye is now conducting surveys and exploration for energy in the seas with its own ships, after it used to conduct them in the past by chartering and other similar means.

He pointed out that “Türkiye is looking for energy today through 6 ships in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, and that its situation will be completely different and it will become much stronger when it begins extracting natural gas”.

He pointed out that the government will continue to provide services in all 81 provinces across Türkiye.

He stated that 78 projects and landmarks will be opened in Çorum today, at a cost of 3 billion and 263 million Turkish liras (one dollar is equivalent to about 17.93 liras).
