Erdogan announces that Ankara hopes to open a new page in its relations with the United States and Europe during the new year without neglecting Asia, Latin America and Africa
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara hopes to open a new page in its relations with the United States and Europe during the new year 2021.
“In conjunction with our development of our relations with Europe and the United States, we can never neglect… Asia, Latin America and Africa,” the Turkish “Anadolu Agency” quoted him as saying in a meeting of the representative bloc of the “Justice and Development” party at the Turkish parliament today, Wednesday.
He expressed his wishes that the European Union would soon get rid of the strategic blindness that would distance it from Turkey.
He stressed that “Turkey is not a country that obeys the language of sanctions and blackmail, and it cannot turn its back on either the East or the West”.
Erdogan indicated that Turkey has been subjected to a double standard treatment that it does not deserve regarding the issues of the Eastern Mediterranean and the “S-400” system.
He expressed his belief that the new US president, Joe Biden, would attach the required importance to Turkish-American relations, stressing that there were no prejudices, enmity and rivalry for anyone they had.
