Conflicting information about the assassination of Ali Larijani and Basij commander Gholam Soleimani in night strikes targeting Iran
The office of the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, denied his assassination and said that he would issue a letter in a short time in response to Israeli allegations of his assassination.
This came in a post by Larijani’s official account on social media platforms on Tuesday.
The publication said that Larijani would publish a letter in a short time, without providing further details.
Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed that Larijani and Basij commander Gholamreza Soleimani were assassinated in last night’s raids.
“Larijani and the Basij leader were eliminated tonight, joined the head of the destruction plan (Supreme Leader Ali) Khamenei, and all the members of the axis of evil whose plans were foiled, in the depths of hell,” Katz said in a televised statement.
