China is preparing to supply Iran with air defense systems
Reports indicated that China is preparing to supply Iran with air defense systems within weeks.
According to recent US intelligence assessments as saying that there are indications that China is trying to deliver these shipments to Iran via third countries to conceal their true origin.
The shipments include shoulder-launched air defense systems, of the “MANPADS” type.
For its part, the Chinese embassy in Washington denied the validity of these claims, noting that Beijing hasn’t provided any weapons to any party in the conflict.
The Chinese embassy added, in statements made by her official spokesperson, that China, as a responsible major power, is steadfastly committed to its international obligations.
The Chinese embassy called on the US side to avoid making unfounded claims, linking matters in bad faith, and stirring up sensational news, expressing hope that the parties concerned would make further efforts to reduce tensions.
On Saturday, talks between Tehran and Washington began in Islamabad, mediated by Pakistan.
