Bloomberg reported that the United States are planning to ban the use of Chinese and Russian-made equipment and software in some cars inside the country.

It’s noteworthy that the ban will apply to connected vehicles, i.e. vehicles whose security system is capable of collecting data on other cars and pedestrians within a radius of about 300 meters.

Russian and Chinese software may also be banned from being installed on cars with internet access and navigation systems.

Bloomberg reported that the US Department of Commerce is behind the initiative to submit proposals regarding this ban.

According to some sources, this move will include a ban on the use and testing of Chinese and Russian technologies for automated driving systems and vehicle communication systems.

The main goal of all this is to prevent Russian or Chinese experts from tracking the movement of cars in the United States, as well as to put serious obstacles in the way of Chinese companies in the American car market.
