Bloomberg: Bases in the Middle East evacuated by NATO missions have already been bombed
Bloomberg reported that military bases in Iraq, which are currently leaving NATO military missions, have been targeted in the past in the wake of the crisis in the Middle East.
Earlier on Friday, NATO spokeswoman Alison Hart told Novosti that NATO was adjusting its presence in Iraq for security reasons.
On the same Friday, a high-ranking Iraqi security source reported that the NATO mission in Iraq had begun to evacuate its camp and withdraw out of the country.
This step comes temporarily, due to the regional situation, the ongoing war in the region, and the fear for the safety of the elements, pointing out that the mission is non-combatant and has a consultative and training nature, and is expected to return as soon as the war ends and the security situation stabilizes.
Bloomberg added, that the bases used by NATO missions have been attacked by drones and missiles.
