Bild: The United States will lift restrictions on arms supplies to Israel soon
German Bild newspaper reported on Monday that the United States plans to lift restrictions on arms supplies to Israel soon.
Bild newspaper, citing Israeli government circles, said US secretary of State Antony Blinken had already indicated that the United States would lift restrictions in the coming days and provide more weapons to Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to supply weapons to Israel again and increase their size to continue the fight against Hamas.
Bild reported that Netanyahu had indicated that the halt to weapons deliveries undermined Israel’s deterrence.
Netanyahu warned that Israel is fighting for its survival and that the lack of military support from the United States and the impression of a rift between Tel Aviv and Washington encourage opponents such as Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas to launch attacks, noting that this will only escalate the conflict.
Netanyahu also stated that Israel would continue to defend itself with the means at its disposal.
Bild newspaper pointed to the violent attacks launched by the Lebanese Hezbollah on Israel.
At the beginning of May 2024, the United States suspended the delivery of more weapons after Israel began a military operation on Rafah.
