Biden: We’ll not supply Ukraine with F16 fighters

The US President Joe Biden announced that the United States won’t provide Ukraine with F16 fighter jets.
This came in a press conference, on Tuesday, during which Biden answered briefly, “No,” when reporters asked him “whether he supports sending F16 fighter jets to Kyiv”.
The US President’s position is an objection to Ukraine’s requests to obtain F16 fighter jets, after the United States and Germany announced sending combat tanks to help Kyiv defend itself against Russia.
On January 25, Biden officially announced the delivery of 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Kyiv, stressing that this military aid will enhance the ability of Ukrainian forces to repel the ongoing Russian attack.
Biden also revealed that Germany is in the process of “delivering the Patriot missile system to Kyiv”.
The US administration agreed to give Ukraine Abrams tanks after German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced his country’s agreement to send 14 Leopard 2 combat tanks to Kyiv, and to allow any country that owns them to hand them over to it.
NATO countries fear that supplying Ukraine with military equipment will escalate the pace of the conflict and turn it into a war with Russia.
