Presumed Democratic nominee for the US presidential election, Joe Biden, has said he expects President Donald Trump to try to delay the November election in a bid to win a second term.

“Remember my words, I think he will try to postpone the elections in some way and come up with a justification that prevents them from taking place,” Biden said at a fundraising event on the Internet Thursday.

“This is the only way (Trump) thinks he can win,” added the 77-year-old former vice president.

On the other hand, Biden told his supporters that he was “enthusiastic about the debate with Donald Trump.”

“I am ready to debate with him through Zoom, Skype, Slack, Hang Out, or in person at anytime and any place he desires.

The last debate between Biden and Senator Bernie Sanders took place during the race to win the Democratic nomination on 15 March without the public attending in person due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

However, while the virus is still rampant in the United States, questions have been raised about the logistical details of the upcoming debate between Biden and Trump ahead of the elections.

Biden denounced, during the virtual ceremony, the manner in which Trump dealt with the Covid-19 outbreak, which killed about 50,000 people in the United States.

Trump replied to Biden during his daily briefing at the White House on the recent situation”.

I cannot describe what will happen in the elections,” he said, when asked by Agence France Presse about the upcoming elections.

“We have a sleeping man in the basement of a house where the media gives him the freedom to speak while he does not want to hold a debate because of Covid-19,” Trump added”.

They keep him hiding because of the Coronavirus and he does not move much,” he said.

Trump’s mission to win the election may be more difficult than anticipated at a time of the pandemic, while the number of unemployed rose to 26.4 million on Thursday.

While voting by mail and by post is the means that some say may help limit the transmission of Covid-19 infection between voters, Trump insists that it leaves room for fraud.

Meanwhile, dozens of US states have postponed their primary elections, which formally determine the candidate.
