Biden announces he’s stepping down from the presidential elections
US President Joe Biden announced, Sunday, that he won’t run for a second term in the 2024 elections for the Democratic Party.
The decision came after considerable pressure from members of his own party, who demanded that he not run again due to a series of failures he has suffered since facing off with Republican rival Donald Trump.
In his remarks to the US media after announcing the decision, Biden said, “I’ll continue to focus on performing my presidential duties until the end of my term”.
Meanwhile, the democratic party continues the quest to find a suitable candidate to represent the party against the Republican nominee, former president Donald Trump, who gain the party’s nomination at the republican national convention, that took place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin between the 15th till the 18th of July.
