Before meeting Trump… Netanyahu met with Witkoff and Kushner to review the results of talks with Iran
US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner briefed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu early Wednesday on the results of the first round of talks with Iran last week.
This came at the beginning of Netanyahu’s visit to the United States, according to a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office.
According to the statement, “Netanyahu met at the Blair House headquarters in Washington, with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the US president’s special envoys”.
The two sides discussed regional issues during the meeting, and envoys Witkoff and Kushner briefed on the first round of talks they held with Iran last Friday in the Omani capital Muscat.
Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with US President Donald Trump at the White House this evening, in a visit that will last until Thursday.
Netanyahu told reporters ahead of his departure from Tel Aviv on Tuesday: “During this visit we will discuss a range of issues: Gaza, the region, and of course primarily negotiations with Iran”.
“I’ll present to President Trump our perceptions of the principles of negotiation, which I consider important not only for Israel, but for all those who seek peace and security in the Middle East,” he claimed.
