Axios: Trump requested from Israel to destroy several Iranian air defense systems in the 48 hours preceding the US attack
Axios website revealed that the Israeli Air Force destroyed several Iranian air defense systems within 48 hours of the US attack on the Fordo nuclear facility, at the request of the Trump administration.
Axios published a report on Sunday, citing anonymous US and Israeli officials, regarding whether Trump would continue attacks on Iran following the bombing of nuclear facilities early Sunday morning.
A US official claimed that Trump does not want to continue attacks on Iran, saying, “Trump is prepared to attack if the Iranians respond to US forces, but he told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he wants peace”.
Both US and Israeli officials indicated that Trump called Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to inform him of the attacks after B-2 bombers struck bases in Iran.
They stated that the Israeli Air Force destroyed several Iranian air defense systems within 48 hours of the US attack on the Fordow nuclear facility, at the request of the Trump administration.
An Israeli official claimed that the United States had provided Israel with a list of air defense systems it wished to destroy before the attack.
“We didn’t force the United States to join the war… We were careful not to give the impression that we were dragging it into war,” the Israeli official said.
The world is awaiting Tehran’s response to the US attack launched early Sunday morning against the country’s most important nuclear facilities, Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan.
