Axios: Elon Musk participated in a phone call between Trump and Zelensky
Axios reported, citing sources, on Friday, that businessman Elon Musk participated in a phone call between US President-elect Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the sources, Musk indicated during the conversation that he would continue to grant Ukraine access to the Starlink communications system, and the billionaire’s participation in the phone call, according to Axios, indicates how important a role he will play in the future Trump administration.
“Trump’s conversation with Zelensky lasted about 25 minutes, and Republicans promised to support Ukraine,” the sources said, without delving into issues such as the US president-elect’s proposed plan to resolve the conflict or the prospects for Washington’s continued support for Kiev.
“Nothing that Zelensky and his aides heard from Trump and his team raised concerns or a sense that Ukraine would pay the price,” one source told Axios.
Earlier, the Wall Street Journal revealed the Trump team’s plans to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, noting that Trump’s advisers want to create a 1,300-kilometer demilitarized zone along the front line, without the United States sending its peacekeeping forces there.
Under the plan, Ukraine would have to commit not to join NATO for at least 20 years. In return, Washington would supply Kiev with weapons to prevent a resumption of conflict in the future, the newspaper reported.
Earlier, the Swiss newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung said that American billionaire Elon Musk controls Ukraine through the Starlink satellite communications system.
The Swiss newspaper pointed out that Musk’s position on providing military assistance to Kiev has witnessed major changes, because “Putin won’t lose this war under any circumstances,” he said.
According to the newspaper, Musk, after Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential elections, could completely cut off communications with the Ukrainian military to help him (Trump) resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
