After targeting Tel Aviv with missiles… Israel strikes the Yemeni capital and Hodeidah

The Yemeni Ansar Allah group announced on Thursday that 9 people were killed and 3 injured as a result of 12 Israeli raids on the capital, Sanaa, and the Hodeidah Governorate, which overlooks the Red Sea in the west of the country.

According to local resources, 9 were killed and 3 injured in Israeli raids on the port of Hodeidah and the Ras Issa oil facility in western Yemen.

Earlier on Thursday, Ansar Allah announced that Israel launched 12 raids on Sana’a and Hodeidah Governorate.

The Yemeni Saba News Agency, in its affiliated version, quoted an unnamed security source as saying, “The Israeli aggression launched 4 raids on the Haiz power station south of the capital, Sana’a, and two raids on the Dhahban power station north of the capital”.

The source added that “Civil Defense teams were able to extinguish the fire at Dhaban station, and are continuing their work at Haiz station”.

“The Israeli enemy also launched 4 raids on the port of Hodeidah, and 2 raids on the Ras Issa oil facility in the governorate, which led to the martyrdom and injury of a number of employees of the Ras Issa facility,” according to the source.

In turn, the Israeli army said, at dawn on Thursday, that it had launched raids targeting targets of the Ansar Allah group in Yemen, including ports and energy infrastructure in the western coastal sector and deep inside Yemen.

Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari said in a video statement that the Yemeni group fired a rocket toward Israel on Thursday night, forcing millions of Israelis to take shelter in bomb shelters.

Earlier on Thursday morning, the Israeli army claimed to have intercepted a missile launched from Yemen before it penetrated Israeli airspace, and alarms were activated in the center of the country for fear of falling shrapnel from the interception, but videos on social media platforms showed damage to vehicles and buildings in areas of Tel Aviv.

He added, Over the past two weeks, the Houthis launched a drone that hit a civilian area in the south of the country, and last Sunday they launched a long-range missile towards the center of the country.

For its part, Iran on Thursday described the Israeli attacks on ports and energy facilities belonging to the Ansar Allah in Yemen as a flagrant violation of international law in response to a missile attack, according to what was announced by the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei.

In a statement, Baghaei said that the Israeli attacks constitute a flagrant violation of the principles and norms of international law, denouncing the unconditional support provided by the United States to Israel.

Last Monday evening, the official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that Israel was preparing to launch an attack on the Ansar Allah group due to its continued launching of missiles and drones.

The official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation stressed that “there is a consensus within the Israeli security establishment on the necessity of attacking the Yemenis after a series of attacks, as the group launched 6 drones and two ballistic missiles towards Israel last week”.
