After he was injured while practicing sports…the German chancellor appears to the people with a pirate eyepatch and traces of bruises on his face
The German chancellor Olaf Scholz shared a photo on Twitter of him appearing to be wearing a eyepatch and suffering bruises and cuts on the side of his face as a result of a jogging accident over the weekend.
Commenting on the photo, Scholz said, “Excited to see the memes”.
Aiming not to have any concerns about his health, he smacked a shy smile on his lips and wrote, “Thank you for the well wishes, things aren’t too bad”.
It’s worth noting that the government previously announced that Scholz fell during a running session on Saturday, leaving him with bruises to his face and having to cancel some of his appointments this weekend.
As for appointment dates in the state of Hesse, which will hold elections on October 8, Scholz canceled them on Sunday, and he is expected to participate in public events in Berlin later on Monday.
Olaf Scholz, 65, enjoys the habit of jogging regularly, and he has been doing it for many years.
In one of the press interviews a few years ago, he said, “I jog two or three times a week, and on Saturday I allocate an hour and a half for that”.
Scholz has held the position of German chancellor since December 2021, and he previously held the positions of Minister of Finance and Minister of Labor in the country, in addition to his assumption of the position of Mayor of Hamburg.
