A US legislation to completely repeal the Caesar Act and its effects on Syria
US Republican Representative Joe Wilson announced the introduction of bipartisan legislation aimed at fully repealing the Caesar Act and its associated sanctions on Syria.
Wilson posted on X, “Today I introduced bipartisan legislation to fully repeal the Caesar Act and its Syria sanctions”.
US President Donald Trump announced during the Saudi-US Investment Forum that he had decided to lift sanctions on Syria, following discussions with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
It’s noteworthy that the United States began implementing the Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act on June 17, 2020, imposing sanctions on 39 individuals and entities associated with the Syrian government, including former Syrian President Bashar al Assad and his wife, Asma al Assad.
